As a 10 year old who loves sports, I stumbled across an article headlined “Quit complaining about the World Cup”. The World Cup was one of the biggest sporting events in the world and I couldn’t think of any way there could be people complaining about it. This left me quite clueless, so I was eager to find more about it. I was thinking to myself “ Be appreciated, the World Cup happens every 4 years! This is not the time to complain about it !” After looking at the article, every four years at the World Cup, there are always some soccer haters. They would always tell us how bad the tournament would go.
The article says people are furious about the dynamic ticket pricing, which is a way of saying that they made the tickets insanely expensive. A normal seat can cost more than an Apple Watch! My coach always told us that sports are entirely about teamwork, trust, and reminds us at that nobody wins a game alone. This really surprised me because they treat one of the biggest tournaments in the world like a business. I learned that paying for a $1,000 ticket doesn’t make you a fan, watching and having passion for the game makes you a true fan.
