This weekend our team became tournament champions, and it felt amazing to skate off the ice holding the trophy. We had to play hard in every game, but the most exciting one was the semi-final against Humber Valley Sharks. Two weeks ago, they had beaten us in an exhibition game, so we knew it would be tough. They scored first, but we fought back and won 4–2. Beating the team that had defeated us before felt like a huge step forward.
Throughout the tournament I also learned more about playing as a right winger. My coaches showed me how to position myself better on offense, how to be ready for rebounds, and how to defend by staying close to my opponent. These lessons helped me play smarter, and I want to keep improving.

Max’s Note:
This tournament showed me that losing once doesn’t mean losing forever. With hard work and practice, we came back stronger, and I learned more about my position too.
Questions for You:
Have you ever lost to someone and then had a chance to play them again? What did you do differently the second time?
